Senior Vice President and Practice Lead, Planning and Architecture

Ms. Harden is Senior Vice President and Practice Lead, Planning and Architecture for Michael Baker International. She is responsible for building and advancing the company’s Planning and Architecture practices through the consolidation and dissemination of technical information and management of professionals located across the country. 

Ms. Harden has extensive experience spanning over 20 years with a focus on public participation and community-based planning, including downtown and neighborhood revitalization, comprehensive planning, mobility plans, and urban design projects. Prior to this role, Ms. Harden volunteered with the Peace Corps in Senegal, West Africa and with the AmeriCorps National Service Program in Kansas City. Additionally, she worked for the Metropolitan Energy Center, a Kansas City-based not-for-profit environmental organization, and with the State of Arizona as a community planning specialist, providing technical planning support and assistance to Arizona’s rural and tribal communities.

Ms. Harden holds bachelor degrees in Architectural Studies and Environmental Studies, both from the University of Kansas and an M.S. in Environmental Planning from Arizona State University. She is an American Institute Certified Planner, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Main Street Manager. Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), American Planning Association (APA), California Planning Roundtable, International Association for Public Participation, National Main Street Center, and Neighborhoods USA (NUSA).
