The Phoenix Office held their annual bottled water drive for the Phoenix Rescue Mission, Code Red Summer Heat Relief Program and donated 2,688 bottles of water to help those in need.
The Phoenix Rescue Mission provides rescue, recovery and re-entry process for countless men and women in the community facing homelessness and addiction. During the summer months, the triple- digit temperatures in the Arizona Valley can cause dehydration, illness and even death for the homeless. The Phoenix Rescue Mission’s Code Red Heat Relief Program supplies water for those in need by organizing water drives with community members and local businesses.
The Phoenix Community Service Group became involved in the water drive three years ago when the decision was made by the group to support this annual event. Debbie Moller chaired this year’s drive and the monetary donations from the Phoenix Office staff exceeded expectations, raising a total of $192 in cash donations during the months of May and June. On July 14th, volunteers Doug Plasencia, Pawel Paszczuk and Laura Poore purchased the water and delivered 2,688 bottles to All Smiles Dental Care, a Phoenix Rescue Mission drop location. The added bonus was All Smiles Dental Care matched the donations received so the combined effort of Michael Baker International and All Smiles Dental Care alone resulted in a total of 5,376 bottles of water donated!
