Sleek lines, natural day lighting, exterior courtyard seating, bicycle parking and native landscaping. In cooperation with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority and Flightstar Aircraft Services, Michael Baker International’s aviation designers implemented experience, creativity and innovation to create Hangar 935 at Cecil Airport. The highly regarded facility serves as the new headquarters for Flightstar, the airport’s tenant. Sized to support a variety of aircraft, including a single Boeing 767 or up to four Boeing 757s simultaneously, the 113,000-square-foot hangar bay is supported by an eighteen thousand-square-foot warehouse that serves as Flightstar’s central receiving and distribution center. The remainder of the facility contains shop, tool, layout, office, training and other support spaces. Extremely versatile in project delivery methods, our experts worked with a Construction Manager at Risk contractor, leading all permitting efforts and assisting in the development of construction packages to create a successful fast track construction process.
