Location: Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, South Carolina
The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport Terminal Improvement Program involves the complete renovation of all areas within the original 1960’s facility with a number of additions. Beginning with extensive renovations that are not only functional, but are aesthetically pleasing and reflective of the Upstate culture, many of the program’s elements address one of the key items to an airport’s overall success; the passenger experience. Care of and respect for the local environment is Michael Baker International’s priority. We have worked diligently to ensure that sustainability is being addressed throughout every element of the Terminal program. New, more efficient lighting and HVAC systems are being installed and low flow fixtures are being incorporated at all locations. With the extensive use of glass curtain wall, natural light will penetrate deeply into the interior. Solar water heating will be used in the Terminal and rainwater collection will be utilized to minimize the need for exterior irrigation.
