Location: Camp Lejeune, NC
This project includes a new 103,334 square foot combined multistory facility to serve as bachelor enlisted quarters, a 167,450 square foot, three-story 700-vehicle parking garage, a recreation shelter, and a personal equipment cleaning station. The design creates functional, comfortable, sustainable, durable, and energy- and cost-efficient living quarters that reflect a high-end residential appearance and promote quality of life while achieving consistency with other base Marine Corps buildings. The campus-like appearance and feel is further reinforced by warm, earth-tone interior finishes. The BEQ features an articulated, offset-angled floor plan for design efficiency. The layout is an integrally developed solution that simplifies access to living quarters and building amenities, maximizes gross square footage in the multipurpose and community areas, and provides multiple opportunities for daylighting. Interior systems were designed to support the goals of energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost efficiency, with an emphasis on investments that will yield long-term operations and maintenance benefits.
