Brian Kozy is recognized for his technical excellence in bridges. As National Technical Director, Bridge Services, Brian focuses on how Michael Baker International can support and partner with owner agencies nationwide to deliver the most innovative and cost-effective solutions on complex bridge projects and program initiatives.
Brian has 25+ years of technical expertise with experience in consulting, academia and public service. He most recently served as National Practice Lead for Michael Baker’s Bridge practice, facilitating the ongoing growth of the practice through extensive client outreach, industry engagement and close collaboration with lead bridge staff across the company. Brian brings a practical and innovative mindset to solving the nation’s most difficult engineering, construction and asset management challenges in bridges and other highway structures. He is providing senior leadership in many projects of national importance, such as the Federal Highway Administration/National Highway Institute’s Bridges and Structures Training Program and the Transportation Pooled Fund Study focused on advancing BIM for Infrastructure.
Brian frequently speaks about BIM, refined analysis and redundancy in steel bridges at industry events, such as the International Bridge Conference (IBC), and his published work has appeared in publications including American Infrastructure and Structure Magazine. He is actively involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Institute of Steel Construction and American Segmental Bridge Institute.
