Pittsburgh (May 30, 2017) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced the following appointments that support the firm’s focus on growth in the Northeast Region: Magdy Hagag, P.E., to Vice President and Office Executive for the Newark, New Jersey office; Darren Riegler, P.E., to Vice President and Office Executive for the Hamilton, New Jersey office; and William Marman, P.E., to Vice President and Office Executive for the New York (New York City, White Plains and Rensselaer) operation. In their new roles, Mr. Hagag, Mr. Riegler and Mr. Marman will focus on individual market strategies for New Jersey and New York and will oversee more than 200 team members in their work for clients across all functions of the organization.

Previously, Mr. Hagag served as Michael Baker’s Vice President and Director of Project and Quality Management for the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area where he was responsible for coaching, developing and managing talent for more than 40 project managers throughout the New Jersey operation. He also served as client manager for numerous key clients including: NJDOT; NJPTA; and the City of Newark, where he managed client relations, expectations and services. As a Senior Project Manager, Mr. Hagag managed and delivered numerous complex multi-disciplinary transportation infrastructure projects in New Jersey and was involved in National Pavement Initiative efforts.
Mr. Hagag is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Indiana and Connecticut, and is certified as a QM Auditor, in ISO9001 and in Value Engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and earned a Certificate in Project Management from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa.
Mr. Riegler began his career at Michael Baker as a Project Manager and Highway Engineer and has held roles of increasing responsibility since that time. As former Associate Vice President and Director of Transportation for Michael Baker’s New Jersey operation, he was responsible for Planning, Traffic/ITS, Environmental/Water Resources, Geospatial Information Systems and Architecture business lines that included operational oversight of 75 direct and indirect employees. He also was the Director of Business Development for the entire New Jersey business development program across all Michael Baker businesses. As a Senior Project Manager, Mr. Riegler delivered numerous complex multidisciplinary transportation infrastructure projects on time and on budget in New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Riegler is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York and New Jersey. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Investments from CUNY Bernard Baruch College in New York City, New York, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa.
Mr. Marman brings engineering design and management, leadership and mentoring skills to his new position at Michael Baker. Previously, he served as the lead of Michael Baker’s Transportation Engineering Practice in New York. As Vice President, Downstate New York Highway/Bridge Market Leader and Director of Engineering for AECOM in New York, he managed five technical departments consisting of more than 160 engineers, transportation planners and technicians. This role included all P & L responsibilities, including billing and collections, wins, bookings and forecasting, and all business decisions related to business development, opportunity tracking, teaming and proposal development.
Mr. Marman is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. He earned both a Master and Bachelor of Civil Engineering degrees from Manhattan College, in Riverdale, New York.
