Dallas (June 18, 2015) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, consulting, planning, technical and professional services, is opening the doors to its new home in the Dallas area to better serve its customers and the community. On Thursday, June 18 from 4 to 7 p.m., the company christened its new location (1501 LBJ Freeway, Suite 650) with a grand opening event.
Invited guests got a first glimpse at the office and also saw a demonstration of the company’s Lynx Mobile Mapper™ System using the latest Mobile LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology. Michael Baker International was among the first innovators in the use of mobile mapping technology. The Mobile LiDAR vehicle enables the company to complete accurate engineering surveys and asset mapping for highways, runways and other critical infrastructure projects. In addition, guests saw how unmanned aerial systems are becoming an important tool in Michael Baker’s work on a variety of projects.

The S.M. Wright Freeway Project is a recent example of Michael Baker’s investment in the region. It will provide a direct connection from US 175 to Interstate 45, will eliminate a dangerous curve known locally as “Dead Man’s Curve” and will provide opportunities for neighborhood revitalization and economic development. Michael Baker International partnered with the City of Dallas, TxDOT and the North Texas Tollway Authority to deliver this project.
