Pittsburgh (August 17, 2015) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, consulting, planning, technical and professional services, and its employees are demonstrating their ongoing commitment to Pressley Ridge, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organization that provides care to children in need and families in crisis. On Sunday, August 16, the company participated in the 21stAnnual Pressley Ridge Ice Cream Fundae fundraiser at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.
Guests who purchased tickets to the event enjoyed all-you-can-eat ice cream, visits with the animals, a variety of family-friendly activities and a chance to meet some of the children being assisted by Pressley Ridge. Along with employees of other sponsoring companies, Michael Baker team members manned the company’s ice cream scooping station and served the company’s hand-selected ice cream flavor “Zoolicious,” which was a combination of vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge and peanut butter cups. Attendees could then vote on their favorite flavor.

Founded in Pittsburgh in 1832, Pressley Ridge helps 5,200 children annually and touches the lives of more than 10,000 families by providing educational opportunities, foster care connections, residential care and community-based support in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Portugal and Hungary.
The Pressley Ridge Ice Cream Fundae coincided with Michael Baker’s “75 x 5k Service” campaign. Launched on June 1 in commemoration of the company’s 75th anniversary celebration, “75 x 5k Service” is challenging employees across the enterprise to contribute 7,500 hours of community service by year’s end.
