Michael Baker International's William A. Hayward, Jr. Receives Hans William Meier Award for Advancement of Certification Programs

Tampa, Fla. (October 2, 2014) - Michael Baker International is pleased to announce that William A. Hayward, Jr. (Chip), AIA, CSI-CCCA,  LEED GA has been recommended by his peers and recognized by the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) with the prestigious Hans William Meier Award for Advancement of Certification Programs.  Mr. Hayward teaches and advances CSI’s CDT-Construction Document Technology Certification Program with the local Tampa Chapter, the Orlando Chapter, in conjunction with the USF College of Architecture, and throughout the Southeast Region.  Mr. Hayward’s spirit of volunteerism and exceptional commitment to CSI’s Certification Programs make him a noteworthy example of how Michael Baker International employees make a difference in the industries the firm serves.

CSI is the construction community’s authority on communication and construction documentation. The Hans William Meier Award is presented to a CSI member or group that demonstrates exceptional commitment to CSI’s Certification Programs by advocating, implementing, educating, developing, utilizing, and supporting certification.

Mr. Hayward is Senior Architect in Michael Baker International’s Tampa, Florida office.  He has extensive experience spanning over 33 years and has played a significant role in contributing to $2.4 billion dollars’ worth of successful construction. This experience includes a myriad of project types including Government Facilities, Aviation Projects, Office Buildings, Hotels, High-Rise Condominiums, Medical, Convention Centers, Parking Garages and Recreation and Sports Complexes.  Since joining CSI in 2006, Mr. Hayward has served as a CSI leader at the Chapter, Regional and Institute levels.  He has served as President and held several Board positions for the Tampa Bay Chapter.  In the Southeast Region, he served as Conference Co-Chair, Certification Chair, Conference Guide Committee Chair, SERC 2013 and 2014 Advisor, and is currently serving a second term as the Southeast Region Secretary-Treasurer.
