Pittsburgh (March 12, 2014) - The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, has selected Michael Baker Jr., Inc. (an engineering unit of Michael Baker International, LLC), for a two-year, open-end construction management (CM) services contract, renewable for up to two consecutive renewals of two years each. The contract demonstrates the Company’s continued growth in delivering comprehensive vertical construction services for the education market segment.

It provides a mechanism for universities throughout Pennsylvania to access highly qualified construction managers and engineers, and Baker’s network of resources and well-positioned office locations in Pennsylvania enables us to provide CM support to any of the state-owned universities. Our consistent CM success in Pennsylvania positions Baker to become PASSHE’s preferred CM provider.”
The contract retains Baker, via Individual Work Orders, to provide construction management, programming, project management, design-phase services, bid-phase support, coordination and scheduling, cost estimating, constructability reviews, value engineering, reporting and management information systems associated with construction management, LEED support and oversight, construction administration, management, and inspection and claims consulting.
PASSHE comprises 14 state-owned universities: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania.
