Baker's Jeff Campbell Honored as ESWP Engineer of the Year

Pittsburgh (March 20, 2014) - The Engineering Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP)  has honored Jeffrey J. Campbell, P.E., of Michael Baker International, as the recipient of its 2014 Engineer of the Year award.  Campbell, a 36-year Baker employee, currently serves as senior vice president and Central Region manager for the Company’s Transportation business.  Previously, he served in numerous operations, program and project leadership positions within Baker’s Transportation group.  For example, as project manager, he spearheaded crucial AASHTO bridge load rating and bridge design software application development as part of AASHTOWare® products.  Earlier, Campbell served as project manager on numerous signature highway and bridge design projects as well as software development projects including PennDOT Bridge Automated Design and Drafting System (BRADD-2).

“This award is a tribute to all the fine colleagues, mentors, clients and family members whose professionalism and support made my 37 year career at Baker so enjoyable and rewarding,” said Campbell. “I’m deeply moved and honored to have been selected by my peers in the engineering profession.”

A Professional Engineer with registrations in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Nebraska, Wyoming, Kansas, Michigan and Missouri, Campbell is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he earned both his B.S. in Civil Engineering (1977) and his M.S. in Engineering Management (1984).  He is an active participant and has held leadership positions in numerous professional trade organizations including American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania, American Society of Civil Engineers, Association for Bridge Construction and Design, Engineers Society of Western Pennsylvania and the International Bridge Conference.
