Michael Baker International Promotes Harold Chappell to Vice President of Specialized Construction

Chappell Responsible for Driving Growth in the Company's Construction Program

Pittsburgh (July 6, 2016) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, announced  today that Harold Chappell has been promoted to vice president and director of the company’s Specialized Construction business unit. In his new role, Mr. Chappell will be responsible for all facets of the Specialized Construction business unit, including: client satisfaction; resource allocation and acquisition; talent management and development; and the overall efficiency and profitability of Michael Baker’s construction program.

Mr. Chappell brings 40 years of construction management experience to his new role, and has been a valuable team member at Michael Baker since 2013.  While at Michael Baker, Mr. Chappell established and led the successful $200-million Balad Air Base construction program in Iraq which included 35 projects in support of the Iraq F-16 foreign military sales (FMS) program. 
 
A registered professional engineer, Mr. Chappell finished his military career in 2004 after 26 years as a U.S. Army engineer officer, having served as a Brigade Commander in Korea and as Executive Officer to the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Installations and Environment in the Pentagon. Outside of his work at Michael Baker, Mr. Chappell has been active with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) for more than 35 years, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Army Engineer Association (AEA), an organization that works to recognize the significant contributions of the Army Engineer Regiment within the Army and United States.
