Michael Baker International Recognizes Employee Excellence with Leadership Promotions in Indiana and Wisconsin

Firm's Great Lakes Region invests in talents to deliver innovative solutions to clients, grow business

Pittsburgh (July 25, 2017) - Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced the promotion of Mary Jo Hamman, P.E., to Office Executive in the firm’s Indianapolis, Ind., office, as well as, the promotion of Sue Barker, P.E., to Office Manager in Madison, Wis. These promotions reaffirm the company’s commitment to recognizing outstanding performance.

Mary Jo Hamman – Office Executive (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Mary Jo Hamman was promoted to Office Executive, overseeing Michael Baker’s two Indiana offices and more than 25 team members in Indianapolis and Highland. In her role, Ms. Hamman will work with department managers to lead various transportation infrastructure projects throughout the region. She is also responsible for administering day-to-day operations and supervising office personnel. Prior to her promotion, Ms. Hamman was a Project Manager in the Indianapolis office and was responsible for operations, business development, staffing and project management for a broad range of transportation projects.
 
As part of her 31 year career, Ms. Hamman spent 17 years with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) as a Design Development Section Manger before joining Michael Baker. While with the state, she served on the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Subcommittee on Bridges and Structures, and is currently a member the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana (ACEC/Indiana).  Ms. Hamman has a Bachelor of Science degree and has completed a number of Master’s level courses in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
 
Sue Barker – Office Manager (Madison, Wis.)
Sue Barker was promoted to Office Manager, overseeing 12 team members in Michael Baker’s Madison and Milwaukee, Wis., offices, and managing the offices’ business activities. In her role, she will direct and lead the office in support of several high-profile Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) projects throughout the state. Ms. Barker previously served as a Project Manager in the firm’s Madison office where she provided engineering design and oversight for projects ranging in type, size, and complexity.
 
She brings more than 30 years of comprehensive industry experience in transportation planning, design, construction management and public involvement to her new role.  She is a member of the ACEC-Wisconsin chapter, the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS). Ms. Barker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
