Michael Baker International Names Chris Phillips Chief Communications Officer
Experienced Communications Leader to Advance Michael Baker’s Brand, Reputation, and Technology-Forward Market Position
PITTSBURGH, October 6, 2026 – Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, architecture, consulting, and digital solutions, today announced that Chris Phillips has joined the firm as Chief Communications Officer. In this role, Ms. Phillips will lead Michael Baker’s enterprise communications strategy, strengthening the firm’s brand, reputation, and engagement with employees, clients, and stakeholders nationwide.
Working closely with the executive leadership team and colleagues across the company, Ms. Phillips will help advance Michael Baker’s corporate narrative and elevate the firm’s position at the intersection of infrastructure and technology. Her work will support strategic growth priorities, increase visibility for the firm’s differentiated capabilities, and reinforce Michael Baker’s role as a trusted partner to clients and communities.

Ms. Phillips brings more than 25 years of experience leading corporate communications programs for global publicly traded companies and high-growth startups across the engineering technology, infrastructure, telecommunications, satellite, semiconductor, wireless, connected home, and business services industries. She joins Michael Baker from Bentley Systems, a global leader in infrastructure engineering software, where she served as Head of External Communications and led integrated communications, media relations, executive visibility, and thought leadership. Previously, Ms. Phillips was Vice President of PR and Corporate Communications at E-Space, a Low Earth Orbit satellite company focused on advancing IoT connectivity. Before that, she served as Vice President of PR and Executive Communications at satellite communications provider Viasat, guiding corporate narrative and external engagement during a period of significant transformation. Ms. Phillips has also held senior communications roles at Entropic Communications and Ruder Finn/Finn Partners.
Ms. Phillips earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in English from Union College.
