Brian G. May is Executive Vice President, Federal Programs for Michael Baker International. In this role, he leads the firm’s efforts to accelerate growth in Federal markets by expanding its client roster and relationships with defense and civilian agencies.  He continues the firm’s focus on capturing more of the Federal market and delivering quality projects by bringing the best people and resources to the work for Federal clients, while also promoting collaboration and leveraging the firm’s expertise to win new work. Mr. May joined Michael Baker in 2019 as National Market Lead – Air Force and U.S. Space Force, where he used the firm’s relationship-focused account management approach to expand its work and position Michael Baker for greater growth opportunities with the Air Force and Space Force.

Mr. May retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2017 at the rank of Colonel after 25 years of military service as a civil engineer, including leadership experience in installation planning, capital investment decision-making and facility design and construction. Prior to his retirement, he served as Director of Facility Engineering at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) in San Antonio, Texas, where he led a staff of 150 engineers and project managers in the oversight and on-time, within budget execution of a $10 billion worldwide design and construction portfolio. Prior to his time with AFCEC, he served in different leadership roles with either direct involvement in or oversight responsibility for facility planning and management activities, both in the field and at headquarters levels.

Mr. May earned his Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island; his Master of Arts degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University in Montgomery, Alabama; his Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington; and his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.
