Sector Lead, Transit and Aviation
David B. Tudryn, AIA, LEED Green Associate, is the infrastructure architecture leader as part of Michael Baker’s Integrated Design and Advisory (IDA) team, leading our national Aviation and Transit sectors. Mr. Tudryn is a licensed Registered Architect in 11 states, as well as the District of Columbia, and holds affiliation with the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He has extensive experience in managing large transportation infrastructure design teams and overseeing technical projects that require significant agency coordination and public engagement.
Mr. Tudryn began his career at Michael Baker as an architectural intern, eventually serving as a project manager, operations manager and assistant vice president. As the sector lead for Transit and Aviation, he is uniquely situated to build upon and expand the core capabilities the team has developed with our federal and regional clients, while boldly expanding into the private sector.
He notably served as project director for the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Eleven Hartford Line Rail Stations. Mr. Tudryn also served as architect-of-record for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Bladensburg design-build bus facility, which accommodates a fleet of 300 battery-electric transit vehicles, and as architect-of-record for the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center, a world-class home for multiple transit modes and a catalyst for transit-oriented development.
Mr. Tudryn’s strength lies in his ability to recognize the clients’ intentions – whether it’s an iconic new terminal project or a value-sensitive utilitarian facility and can execute a project with the utmost sensitivity towards operational continuity and safety of occupants and personnel. His work often involves extensive stakeholder coordination and public involvement, ensuring that project goals are met and the end-user experience lives up to expectations.
