Digital Government Practice Lead
Eric Jorgensen serves as Digital Government Practice Lead for Michael Baker’s GovTech business vertical. In this role, he leads client engagement strategies to expand the firm’s Digital Government portfolio across new and existing clients, while strengthening relationships that reinforce Michael Baker’s position as a trusted advisor delivering fully integrated solutions and services.
With more than 20 years of experience in state government and operations, Mr. Jorgensen brings deep expertise in navigating complex organizations and aligning technical capabilities with client needs. He is recognized for his collaborative leadership style, strategic perspective and focus on delivering practical, high-impact outcomes for public agencies.
Previously, Mr. Jorgensen served as Director of the Arizona Department of Transportation’s Motor Vehicle Division. During his tenure, he led initiatives that reduced customer experience times by more than 50% and introduced first-in-the-nation online government services, including at-home knowledge testing for instructional permits, fully remote and automated title transfers, and a robust identity management and authentication platform that significantly advanced “know-your-customer” capabilities.
He successfully led a $68 million, multi-year modernization at the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division, including the replacement of a 40-year-old legacy mainframe system and built the foundation for continued digital transformation.
In his current role at Michael Baker, Mr. Jorgensen partners closely with local and regional leadership to align the firm’s technical capabilities with market demands and client expectations. He fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver integrated, technology-driven solutions that advance digital government outcomes.
