Iyad Alrabadi is the Market Director for California within Michael Baker’s Integrated Design and Advisory business vertical. He brings over two decades of strategic leadership and technical expertise to the firm. With a deep specialization in mechanical, electrical, process and plumbing systems, he leads multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance solutions across life sciences, manufacturing and technology sectors. His role is defined by a commitment to engineering excellence, operational efficiency and client-focused innovation—ensuring that complex requirements are translated into scalable, efficient outcomes.
In this role, Mr. Alrabadi drives market expansion, financial performance and team development across sectors, including defense, healthcare, life sciences, aviation and higher education—delivering resilient, forward-thinking solutions that align with client needs.
Prior to joining Michael Baker, Mr. Alrabadi held senior leadership roles at Genesis AEC, CRB Engineering, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Genomatica, Burns & McDonnell and AECOM. His career is marked by the successful execution of hundreds of capital projects, including large-scale pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities, utility infrastructure upgrades and advanced manufacturing expansions. He has consistently driven business growth through strategic planning, client engagement and operational oversight, while mentoring teams and fostering cross-functional collaboration. His ability to lead complex initiatives—from concept through commissioning—has earned him a reputation for reliability, innovation and delivery excellence.
Mr. Alrabadi’s contributions have been recognized through multiple honors, including Employee of the Quarter at CRB for outstanding leadership and project success, and at Genomatica for successfully managing the relocation of a 68,000-square-foot research and development facility.
One standout example of Mr. Alrabadi’s impact is his leadership in managing the engineering design of a 40,000-square-foot aseptic filling line installation. The project included formulation areas, cleanrooms and utility support spaces, with specialized equipment such as vial washers, depyrogenation tunnels, isolators, fillers, autoclaves and clean steam generators. Delivered in just 11 months from concept to mechanical completion, the project met FDA and EU GMP standards and played a critical role in supporting COVID-19 vaccine production—demonstrating Mr. Alrabadi’s ability to deliver high-stakes projects under accelerated timelines.
