Tony Hunley, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., is an industry leader in bridges. In his role as National Director, Bridge Services, he leads business development, client engagement and the long-term growth strategy for Michael Baker International’s award-winning national Bridge Practice. He is responsible for growing the firm’s highly diversified bridge portfolio, which includes Long-Span Bridges, Bridge Inspection, Load Rating, Asset Management Services, Emergency Response, Policy Advisory Services, Bridge Technology, 3D Digital Delivery and UAS Imagery.
Tony has more than 25 years of experience improving the state of infrastructure for the traveling public, having worked with nearly every bridge type at every phase, including design, evaluation and rehabilitation of several complex long-span river crossings. He has a proven track record of successfully leading expansion into new markets and diversifying service offerings.
Tony serves on committees and working groups for several associations, including the American Institute of Steel Construction/National Steel Bridge Alliance, American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, Transportation Research Board, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and Federal Highway Administration. He is the founder, organizer and moderator of the annual Kentucky Bridge Engineering Seminar Day, which launched in 2012. Tony is a frequent speaker at local, regional, national and international conferences and has received more than a dozen personal and project awards, including a National Honor Award for the Bridging Kentucky Program from the ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards Program in 2023.
