Michael Baker worked with CBRE, D2 Groups and Nouryon on interior renovations for Nouryon’s new offices at Park Ten Plaza in Houston, Texas. Services provided by Michael Baker included mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design, lighting design and lighting commissioning (Cx). The full floor renovation scope consisted of the removal and redesign of interior walls, coordinating new system designs with existing equipment, a new server room with dry pipe sprinkler system, new break room, coffee bar, privacy room with single restroom, new lavatories and faucets in the restrooms and new lighting.
Michael Baker first completed a survey of conditions in the existing spaces to accurately document and assess design considerations. Our engineers were challenged with an expedited review schedule of product and equipment submittals, and we rose to meet this challenge so that Nouryon could move-in on time. Thanks to our quality control process, we ensured that MEP designs did not receive city comments that would have delayed the issuance of the permits, thus keeping to the planned project schedule put forth by CRBE and Nouryon.
The team adapted its usual process of site visits and reporting due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating weekly virtual calls with all relevant parties to maintain oversight while prioritizing health and safety.
