Roundabouts

Roundabout Expertise

Reduced crashes and lower crash severity for vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles, as well as lower maintenance costs, less property impacts and better traffic operations have led to the rapid escalation in roundabout construction throughout the United States.

Michael Baker has been involved in the analysis and design of roundabouts since 2001, when we supported the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in the initial development of their Publication 414, PennDOT’s Guide to Roundabouts. For more than 20 years, Michael Baker has performed roundabout planning, analysis and design for single lane, hybrid and multi-lane roundabouts throughout the country. We have also provided on-call and peer review to ensure designs will operate as safely and efficiently as possible.
