Michael Baker International Names Anthony (Tony) Marcello Office Executive – Denver

PITTSBURGH (July 17, 2025) – Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, consulting and technology services, today announced that Anthony (Tony) Marcello has joined the firm as Office Executive – Denver. In this role, Mr. Marcello will oversee daily operations for the Denver, Colorado, office, deepening client and industry engagement, driving new business development, expanding the office’s services, elevating project execution and fostering an inclusive culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Additionally, he will lead Denver’s growth strategy and commitment to excellence as One Michael Baker by collaborating with leaders across practices, markets and office locations so that the firm can best serve its clients as a full-service engineering, consulting and advisory firm.

Mr. Marcello brings more than four decades of experience to his role as Office Executive, including a track record of working with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and other key municipal and state agencies in the Western Region delivering large, complex highway and interchange reconstruction projects, as well as partnering for large design and construction projects. He joins Michael Baker from Parsons Corporation, where he was Vice President and Colorado/Utah Mobility Solutions Manager. Other roles in his career include Vice President and Colorado Roads and Highways Group Lead for David Evans and Associates, Inc.; Associate Vice President and Denver Group Director for HNTB Corporation; and various Discipline Manager, Design Manager and Project Manager roles with other firms.

Mr. Marcello holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He is also active with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and Move Colorado, an organization that advocates for the increase of financial resources to support Colorado’s transportation system.

Michael Baker International Names Valorie Hargett Integrated Design and Advisory Business Development Executive for the Pacific Northwest, Southwest and California

PITTSBURGH (June 20, 2025) – Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, today announced that Valorie Hargett has joined the firm as the Integrated Design and Advisory (IDA) Business Development Executive for the Pacific Northwest, Southwest and California. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hargett spent 16 years with Jacobs as a Sales Leader and in Operations roles across multiple geographies in the U.S. and internationally, including Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and South Korea. She is also a former co-owner and principal of designAlliance, which was acquired by AECOM.

In this role, he oversaw a diverse array of water resources projects and pursuits for federal, state and municipal clients.

Mr. Bagha earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology in Nagpur, India, and a Master of Engineering degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He served for four years on the Texas Floodplain Management Association (TFMA) Board of Directors for Region 8, which includes 15 counties along the Gulf Coast and Harris County, Texas.

Before joining Michael Baker, Ms. Kibriya held roles as a Policy and Environmental Planner and Associate Vice President – Environmental Planning at AECOM.

Michael Baker International Names Scott Thornsberry, P.E., Office Executive – Little Rock

Mr. Thornsberry has 29 years of industry experience leading project management, design, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) for transportation projects in Arkansas, including many years designing and managing projects for the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT). During his 12 years with Michael Baker as Department Manager – Transportation, he has overseen the successful delivery of over 60 projects for ARDOT, including design services for highway interchanges, signalized intersections, roadway widening, pavement preservation, bridge preservation, bridge retrofits, bridge inspection and bridge replacements. He also has experience with DOTs in Texas and Georgia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Thornsberry spent 17 years with Garver as a Project Manager and several years with the Austin Engineering Company as a Testing Technician.

Mr. Thornsberry is an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and The Little Rock Engineer’s Club. He also serves on the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)/ARDOT Liaison Committee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
