Services included planning, civil engineering, traffic design, architecture and engineering design, interior design, landscape architecture, grant application support, permitting, construction services, stakeholder coordination and public engagement.
The project consisted of the construction of a 4,000-square-foot rail station [CC1], including a waiting area, baggage area, restrooms, ticketing and support spaces.
Site work included a bus access area, covered walkways, pedestrian and vehicle circulation design, a service area, parking, utility improvements and coordination, landscaping and stormwater management design. Michael Baker prepared preliminary and final designs of the site layout and rail station and presented them to the city’s design review committee, planning commission and site plan review committee. Our team coordinated with Amtrak, local civic groups and the city’s other design consultants to complete the project.
Our construction services included shop-drawing review, participation in progress meetings, review of the contractor’s payment applications and proposed change orders, construction inspection, development of record drawings and inspection during the warranty period.
