World Market Center

Michael Baker provided Executive Architect services for all design phases of World Market Center, the largest and most comprehensive convention complex in the world for the home and hospitality furnishings industry, serving domestic and international sellers and buyers. Host to the famous Las Vegas Market, a major trade show held twice a year, the Center delivers a dynamic new experience for the industry, with fully integrated, state-of-the-art permanent showrooms and temporary exhibit space. The Center is estimated to provide more than $60 million in annual local and state tax revenues, attract nearly two million new visitors to the City and add 35,000 new jobs.

The finished complex encompasses eight buildings, totaling 12 million square feet of world-class exhibit space on 57 acres, complemented with outdoor water features, courtyards and enclosed skywalks connecting buildings. The design blends the indigenous Las Vegas landscape with contemporary elements using an earth tones color palette and metallic glass panels that reflect the changing colors of the desert sun and sky. The massive scale of the complex is accentuated by the convergence of exterior geometric blocks, with iconic features dramatically soaring 300 feet into the desert sky.
