Michael Baker’s work on Spring Lake Dam was recognized by ACEC Mississippi with an Engineering Excellence Honor Award.
The project consisted of the reconstruction of an 800-linear-foot earthen dam in the Vancleave community in northern Jackson County. The reconstruction created a dam with 1,500 linear feet of new roadway across the crest of the dam. The project included significant excavation and grading activities to construct the downstream slope of the dam.
Michael Baker provided field surveys, environmental permitting, preliminary and final roadway, and box culvert design; hydraulics and hydrology; maps and deeds; construction administration and inspection services; and quality control/quality assurance for the Spring Lake Dam reconstruction.
