Michael Baker International was founded in May 1940 when Michael Baker, Jr. opened his engineering and consulting firm in Rochester, Pennsylvania. The core of our company remains unchanged since that day: We Make a Difference for our clients, our colleagues and our communities. Each anniversary of our founding month provides the opportunity for us to reflect on the past and look to the future.
In the 82 years since Michael Baker, Jr. secured his first $25 surveying job, we have built a legacy of expertise, experience, innovation and integrity as we work to make the communities that we serve safer, more accessible, more sustainable and more prosperous. Our colleagues have worked on iconic infrastructure that has improved quality of life from coast-to-coast and around the world.
