Mr. Pitchford will continue to lead the firm’s Orlando and Tampa offices, while also supervising the Jacksonville and Tallahassee locations. He will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s Florida client care and spearheading the growth of Michael Baker’s state-wide portfolio of business, which includes clients such as the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) across seven districts and the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX). MLU provided housing and wrap-around services for emergency workers post-Hurricanes Sally and Ian. Michael Baker International Selected by the Arkansas State Broadband Office for Broadband Grants Systems and Services Contract

PITTSBURGH (May 22, 2024) – Michael Baker International, a global leader in engineering, planning and consulting services, announced that the firm was recently selected by the Arkansas State Broadband Office (ASBO) to provide broadband grant administration systems and services. The firm will partner with ASBO to supply services for managing and administering public funding sources – including the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD), U.S. Treasury Community Project Funding (CPF) and Digital Equity Act – for the ARConnect broadband program. This funding will be utilized for the deployment of broadband infrastructure to provide internet access to unserved and underserved locations, as well as for other digital equity services.

He was instrumental in orchestrating the development of a total QMS approach for TC Energy that focused on the critical quality controls required in engineering, procurement and construction. Earlier roles in his career include General Manager Western Canada and U.S. Operations for LVM/HTES (now part of Stantec), Construction Quality Manager for Parsons, Assistant Project Manager for Landtek, and Lead Field Engineer for Washington Group International.

Mr. Sorensen earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Montana Technological University.
